Every guy, but also skilled lady, can replace the hose himself/herself. Just follow the instructions and you can't mistake. Those who are busy can use the services of a professional from the fraternity of plumbers.
You need following tools to replace the hose: Wrench for removing the hose and a new toilet water hose that has the correct length and terminals.
Stop the water supply with your hand at the angle valve behind the toilet.
Use a wrench to remove the old hose from the angle valve and the toilet cistern.
Measure the length of the old hose. With ideal length, the hose should be U-shaped, with no loops.
Then measure the diameter at the ends of the hose. The terminals are marked G3/8” for a diameter of 19 mm or G1/2" for a diameter of 24 mm.
If you are not sure of the correct terminal, take the old hose with you to the store and ask the shop-assistant for a new hose.
However, avoid so-called armoured hoses. They are made of rubber, which is braided only with wire and their lifespan is 5 years at maximum.
Choose an all-stainless-steel hose that is 100% safe and never bursts.
Use a wrench to mount the new hose back to the toilet and angle valve.
Open the water supply at the angle valve again by hand. Check for water dripping somewhere.
And you're done!
In the same way, you can replace other hoses in your household, such as for mixers or washing machines.
